MESSAGE FROM THE CHAIRMAN

Welcome to the 2010 season!

This year again we have a very strong number of teams with a total of 50 entries in our three Leagues.  Thanks to John Billington for organising the fixtures and to the Committee for all their work.

At the last AGM we made several rule changes.  We hope these changes will clarify some grey areas.  Please read the revised rules to familiarise yourself with the changes as some of them are important.  The revisions are in bold.

There will no longer be a Knock-out Competition as there is dwindling interest and fixture congestion.  There will however be a Junior Tournament in early September – see details and contact info elsewhere in this booklet.  The Committee also discussed the possibility of winter tennis, due to the growing number of clubs with flood-lights.  More on this later.

The League has recently purchased a line-painting machine.  This is now available for clubs to hire at a small cost, plus the paint, so no excuses for poor lines!
