MESSAGE FROM THE CHAIRMAN

Welcome to the 2009 season!  I trust you are looking forward to it.

Firstly we welcome Berriew back to the League.  Their two new teams and additional teams from Llanidloes and Llanymynech should add some extra spice to the season!

We have a developing website at http://www.montgomeryshiretennisleague.org.uk and members are encouraged to use it for checking fixtures, results and latest news.  You can also consult the Rules and Constitution there.   If you haven’t already done so, please let us have your email address. Email communication, especially for results, is fast becoming the best way to communicate.

The AGM last year had a particularly poor turnout, despite the great food and the presentation of winners’ trophies.  This year’s AGM will be held at the Armoury in Welshpool on Wednesday 25^th November at 7.30 p.m. and we urge Clubs to make a special effort to send a representative – and if you are a League or Division winner to receive your trophy.

In an effort to avoid some of the problems which came up last season as a result of teams not fulfilling their fixtures the Committee has decided to change two rules and to clarify others.  We urge you to read them on the website and to familiarize yourself with the changes to avoid disputes.   The Committee has also decided to be more actively involved when League or Cup fixtures are not played in accordance with the rules.

Finally, a big thanks to members of the Committee for their sterling work to make this the best year so far in the Montgomeryshire Tennis League.    Have a good season!
